Kelton Bradley Boell, age 18, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on January 1, 2025.
Kelton was born on October 12, 2006, in Carroll, Iowa, to Brady and Jodi (Koele) Boell. He grew up in Carroll, Iowa and was a senior at Carroll High School. From a young age, Kelton had a deep connection to the outdoors and spent much of his life learning everything he could about nature, land, and water.
Kelton worked alongside his father and cousin Tyler on the Boell family farm north of Lidderdale, where his love for the land grew into true expertise. What began as borrowing knowledge and equipment from his dad eventually became his dad asking those same questions of Kelton. Friends often shared that this same respect and admiration followed him wherever he went.
He loved duck hunting, fishing, and pheasant hunting, and he found joy in sharing those experiences with the people around him. Okoboji held a special place in his heart. Whether wakeboarding, tubing, or navigating West Lake, Kelton knew those waters by instinct. He cherished time spent in his own boat, the old Lund, as well as Grandpa Brad’s fishing boat, both of which carried countless memories.
Above all else, Kelton was a big brother.
His love for his sister surpassed everything. When his parents were away, they knew without question that she would be cared for. Kelton made time to sit in her room, share new music he had discovered, ask about her day, and laugh together on car rides filled with back and forth banter.
He was never too old to sit down and watch Scooby Doo, and though he was always reluctant to put down a fishing pole, he never hesitated when she needed help removing a fish or baiting a hook. His presence was steady, protective, and full of love.
Kelton was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Carroll. He was surrounded by a large and loving family who supported him throughout his life.
Kelton is survived by his parents, Brady and Jodi Boell of Carroll; his sister, Minka Boell, at home; his maternal grandparents, Brad and Gloria Koele of Moville; his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Diane Boell of Lidderdale; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved hunting dog Izzy, as well as his great grandparents and great aunts and uncles.
