Mission of Scholarship: The KB Scholarship was started in memory of Kelton Boell. It will honor Kelton’s legacy by providing direct funding to students who wish to become high-voltage linemen and who share his love for the outdoors and family.
Applicants must be graduates of schools in Carroll, Sac, Woodbury, or Greene county with first preference to Carroll High School graduates. Student must be accepted into the Powerline Technology Program at a college in the state of Iowa. If no applicants are received for Powerline Technology we will accept applications for an electrical course of study at any Community College in Iowa. Scholarship funds of $500 each semester, totaling $2,500, will be paid directly to the student awarded at the beginning of each semester for 5 (five) semesters (fall x 2, spring x 2, and summer x 1). If time to graduate is less than 5 semesters the final balance will be paid out to student at time of graduation from program. Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher throughout college and submit end of semester grades before receiving new semester payment.
Applications are due May 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed and scored by Brady Boell and Jodi Boell.
Scholarship recipients will be contacted via phone no later than 5/15/2026 and a letter in follow up will be sent. Graduating High School will be notified of scholarship acceptance following recipient notification.
